I have merged the previous two topics regarding cosplay questions into one!  It saves space :3

Please ask all your questions regarding prop rules, the Masquerade, the Hall Cosplay Competition and the Fashion Show here.

I have a question about my "props"; I made Larxene's Knives (all 8 of them) from regular Air Dry Clay, now will I have to get all of them checked out and get the little piece of tape on all of them, or what?

Here's a pic of what her knives look like:

I realize this must be a stupid question, but since I have quite a few props I'll be taking with me, I just wanted to know what would be the quickest and easiest way to go about getting all of them checked ^^; (I'll also be taking a wooden sword and plastic knife with me too for my other costumes so far...I'll be keeping the people who check weapons busy! xD )

Just take everything to the Public Safety office (it will be marked on the map in your program booklet).  You won't have to have ALL of them marked since they're all identical.  The sword and the knife of course would be checked separately and will probably both be marked as "okay".

Um...  Hate to be a nattering Nancy, but you will have to have all of your knives checked and marked.  Trust me on this, it's safer this way.

I was going t get them all checked (of course), but it just seemed kinda tidious in my opinion for them to mark them all (the clay knives). I may bring the wooden sword with me too when I do the clay knives since I'll be switching to that costume later in the day. The fake plastic knife will be for Friday, and the rest of my props will be for Saturday :3

I have a question concerning my friend. She will be cosplaying Winry Rockbell and she has a real wrench that's....maybe 12 inches in length. She was allowed to carry it around Kurokiiro because she uses it for pictures only. Will she be able to carry it around again for Tekko '10? (picture of her wrench is in my signature)

The live steel rules are primarily in place for blades.  Given that I seriously doubt your friend will be taking a grinder to the edge of her wrench, I think it is allowable...  Just remember to stop by con ops to have the prop tagged.

Well be sure to get her prop tagged Smiley She's worked staff at cons before for about 5 years so she knows the basic rules n.n;

Alright, I read over the rulesand such, and I don't have a weapons question, but... Would an open shirt such as this be alright?

http://www.onlineanimemanga.com/wp-content/uploads/rosario_vampire.jpg

I know it says pool attire, but Im gonna be new to this con and so I dont know how strict the rules are. (At previous cons, people would walk around almost naked as long as they had something to put on in case their cosplay fell apart and for when they left, so attire wasnt too strict there.) Thanks.

Convention rule #1: Don't be stupid.

How this applies: If a federal, state or local law is broken or if a standard of good taste is violated you will be asked to change since breaking laws and being tasteless is stupid, we would prefer you avoided it.

So, as long as you are not breaking a law or violating good taste, you should be good.

Yeah you'll be fine in that.

"pool attire" is cited because there are some people out there that would try showing up in just body paint or a bra and thong.
